  • Acknowledgement of Country

Inspired by the depth and meaningfulness of traditional Acknowledgements of Country, NIDALA offers a unique experience that blends music, story, mindfulness, and speech to guide groups through this important cultural protocol with authenticity and care.

In these 8–12 minute performances, NIDALA honours the Traditional Owners of the land and invites all present to reflect on their own ancestry and the journey that has brought them to that moment. When delivered online, she facilitates a collective Acknowledgement, encouraging participants to connect with the Country they are joining from.

This offering seeks to move beyond the often-performative nature of contemporary Acknowledgements—challenging the culture of box-ticking and bureaucracy. Instead, NIDALA creates a meaningful, grounded space for connection, respect, and shared tradition.

Please note that a Welcome to Country performed by a local traditional owner should always be prioritised over an Acknowledgement to Country by someone outside of that group. If you have any doubts please feel free to reach out, any questions will be welcomed with openness and warmth.

  • Workshop.

Through story, song and conversation, Nidala guides groups through themes of custodianship, belonging to Country, and shared responsibility.

Rooted in the teachings of her Djugun and Jabirr-Jabirr heritage (West Kimberley) and her work in sustainability and activism, Nidala invites participants to explore their own lineage and relationship with the land they live on.

The core belief of these workshops is simple yet powerful: everyone belongs to the land they live on. By engaging with Indigenous wisdom—and working through disconnection or guilt—participants are supported in discovering their own sense of custodianship.

    Workshops include:

    - Learning to offer a culturally respectful Acknowledgement of Country (distinct from a Welcome, which is reserved for Traditional Owners)

    - Exploring allyship, solidarity, and where your voice is needed

    - Guided practices to deepen your connection to Country, in ways that honour traditions practiced for thousands of years
